Services We Provide

VASH provides supportive services to visitors to Hawai`i who have either
suffered a medical emergency, been a victim of crime, or have experienced
another unfortunate event during their vacation.  We also provide emergency
bereavement services to surviving families who have suffered a sudden death
while on the Big Island.

Sometimes the only touch needed is a caring phone call or visit providing
emotional support. Other times a small gift of Aloha can ease the stress of an
unexpected situation.  Often, help is needed with meals, lodging,
transportation, travel arrangements, clothing, and other physical and
logistical needs including hospital visitation.

Most referrals for help are made through local area hospitals and the Hawai`i
County Police Department with other inquiries coming from within the visitor
industry or other non-profits agencies.

VASH- Hawai`i Island provides services daily throughout the year.  Phones
are monitored on a twenty-four hour basis

Just a note to say thank you for your
supportive program.  It is always
disconcerting when one is robbed but
what a pleasant surprise when I received
a call from your organization.
I really appreciated the "purse" gifts.
They told me that someone cares
and Hawai`i is a place that
takes care of their tourists.

Thank you again,
